How do I book a free trial lesson? +
Simply fill in the contact form on this page or our trial lesson page with your details, preferred instrument, and suburb. We'll match you with a local teacher and schedule your free lesson at a time that works for you.
What ages do you teach? +
We teach students from age 5 right through to adults. Our teachers are experienced at adapting their approach to suit every age group, from young beginners to adult learners picking up an instrument for the first time.
How long are the lessons? +
For children aged 5-9, we recommend 45-minute lessons. For students aged 9 and above, or anyone with specific musical goals like playing in an orchestra, a full 60-minute lesson is a better investment. Advanced players should always go with 60 minutes.
Do the teachers come to my home? +
Yes, that's what we're all about. Our teachers travel to your home so you don't have to deal with traffic or waiting rooms. Lessons happen in a relaxed, familiar environment where students feel comfortable and focused.
What areas do you cover? +
We have teachers across all major New Zealand cities including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, Hastings, Dunedin, Palmerston North, Nelson, Rotorua, New Plymouth, WhangΔrei, Invercargill, Whanganui, Gisborne, Timaru, Blenheim, TaupΕ, Queenstown, Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Porirua, Masterton, Levin, Cambridge, Tokoroa, Pukekohe, Te Awamutu, and Oamaru, as well as many surrounding suburbs. Tell us your suburb and we'll let you know if we have a teacher nearby.
Are your teachers qualified? +
All of our teachers are university-trained musicians who have completed relevant exams and hold current Working With Children police checks. They're not just skilled players, they know how to teach effectively across all ages and skill levels.
How much do lessons cost? +
Lesson rates vary depending on your location and lesson duration. Contact us with your suburb and preferred instrument and we'll provide you with an accurate quote. We pride ourselves on offering very competitive rates for private, in-home tuition.
How do I pay for lessons? +
Lessons are prepaid via direct debit or credit card. We send invoices on a termly basis, but you can request monthly billing if you prefer. Our teachers do not accept cash payments.
Do you accept Creative Kids vouchers? +
Yes, we currently accept Creative Kids vouchers in NSW. We hope to accept government vouchers in other states soon. Let us know if you have a voucher and we'll walk you through how to apply it.
What instruments do you teach? +
We offer private lessons across piano, guitar, drums, violin, singing, ukulele, bass guitar, flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and more. If you're after something specific, just ask and we'll let you know if we have a teacher available.
I'm an adult beginner. Is that okay? +
Absolutely. It's never too late to start learning an instrument. Many of our students are adults picking up music for the first time or returning after years away. Our teachers tailor every lesson to your pace and goals.
Do you offer online lessons? +
Yes, we offer online lessons as an alternative to in-home tuition. Online lessons work well for students who are comfortable with video calls and want the flexibility of learning from anywhere.
Can my child prepare for AMEB exams? +
Yes, our teachers can prepare students for AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) exams and other graded examinations if that's a goal. Just let us know when you enquire and we'll match you with a teacher experienced in exam preparation.
How quickly can I start lessons? +
In most cases, we can have a teacher matched and your first lesson booked within a few days of your enquiry. Availability depends on your suburb and preferred time slot, but we do our best to get you started as quickly as possible.
